Howdy! I'm Defira, you'll find all manner of video game and TTRPG content in these parts. I write and make attempts at art. You'll likely find me making eyes at terrible villains, sorry

In addition to my art piece for @baldursboudoir.bsky.social I also wrote my first Minthara POV fic, featuring our favourite drow enjoying the art of self-bondage

I was so very lucky to take part in @baldursboudoir.bsky.social as both an artist and a writer, and I had so much fun pushing myself artistically for this #EnverGortash #Durgetash piece

(Nobody think about molten metal and exposed bits, okay, it stops being sexy then)
A dark blacksmith forge, heavily shadowed, with only the forge fire providing any light. Enver Gortash stands naked before the anvil with his back to the viewer - he holds a hammer in his right hand and in his left hand he holds up a knife to inspect his work. The knife is Stillmaker, the green blade that he will gift to the Dark Urge. There is a black handprint on his ass cheek, the symbol of Bane.

Rhyme and Gale for @defira85.bsky.social
based on her fanfiction, it can be read HERE 🕯
A scene from @defira85.bsky.social's fan fiction, of her drow character Rhyme and Gale, making love in the barn campsite in Rivington. He is over her, as they lay down on a purple blanket on the floor. It's night, a full moon can be seen outside the window of the barn. He is gently cradling her head with a hand. It's been a hot minute, friends! We're hitting the last few weeks of our creative period, which means it's time to start introducing you to our creative crew! We'll be posting a new contributor every day for the next few months!

First up: meet Defira, our Head Mod and Founder

#swordcoastsapphics
Sword Coast Sapphics: Defira Defira (she/they) is or Head Mod and Zine Founder. She has a soft spot for villainous ladies, and would happily help Minthara sit in as many dead men's thrones as possible. Orin can have her phone number any day, though she is an unrepentant Durgetash shipper. When not daydreaming about Faerun, she is a medical practice manager and cardiac nurse.

A genuinely fantastic zine, and one of the inspirations for me setting out to try running my own zine. I'm so excited for it to launch!

Meet @defira85.bsky.social, an amazing artist and writer in our zine!

Defira - Artist and Writer she/they We are at a moment in time where we are being increasingly censored and monitored across all facets of life both online and offline, and joining this zine felt like a celebration of normalcy in the face of creeping fascism and hysterical modesty. I'm an adult, and I want to enjoy being an adult with other adults! Favorite BG3 Character: Gortash Fun Fact: I'm a medical practice manager and cardiac nurse by day - because normal people in normal jobs enjoy NSFW content! Tumblr- @defira85

Thanks to Cam Rogers on Facebook for articulating exactly the issues around the new animated Firefly that's been announced.
It's set between the end of the show and the 'Serenity' film. I can guess why: they consider Wash, and the Wash/Zoe relationship, too valuable. But this really is both a mistake and an act of creative cowardice. Whether that was the cast's call or the money's call the point stands. Don't get me wrong: we have much bigger problems at the moment. But, to take a moment away from those problems and address a point of craft: I can't believe the US is still - STILL - death-gripping the notion that prequels are a good idea. There's an inherent lack of tension in having *read the ending already*. An ending, I might add, that fueled a ton of unresolved tension - desire - to know *what happens after that ending*. Fans have held that tension for almost twenty years and this is what they get. Prequels fundamentally disrespect the trust and investment viewers placed in what you made. If it was a story worth telling you'd have started there. On some level we all know we're being handed warmed-up leftovers. Final point: I had no intention of supporting this as Baldwin (who plays Jane) was one of the main instigators of GamerGate and *created the hashtag*. By association the cast approves of his company while also enriching him. If you're cool with providing work for a pop-eyed right-winger who created what is arguably the defining incel movement and marshalled an army of men to terrorize women for having careers and opinions then, frankly, nobody should feel safe working with you ever again. And you certainly shouldn't be supported. Especially in this current moment. Weak art, stale bread, handled by a dirtbag whose involvement diminishes everyone involved. Take a hike.

A reddish purple monochrome digital sketch of Gale and a tiefling woman with face tattoos and a high ponytail having sex. Gale is sitting on the edge of a canopied bed whilst the tiefling woman is sitting on his lap with her back against his chest. An alliance with Bhaal’s spawn is… invigorating. One never quite knows what comes next - a kiss pressed to your lips… or your throat torn out between them.

But really, where would be the thrill without a little uncertainty?
