To offer an opening salvo in the flame war: consider climate change.
It’s easy to make a strong utilitarian case for tackling climate change: it will cause great suffering to pretty much everyone, so we should tackle it until the costs of doing so outweigh the avoided suffering.

I reckon if you boiled down a lot of policy disagreements to first principles, utilitarianism would explain a decent chunk.
And yet I really don’t know what most people think about utilitarianism (apart from the hardcore utilitarians).

This feels like something we should be asking right wing politicians about, but I appreciate the media is busy demanding every leader on the left individually parse and disavow each chant overheard at a uni protest.

The RNLI rescued Luftwaffe pilots in WW2 because the organisation is there to 'save life at sea' - it's something to be immensely proud of.
But as I've said many times before Farage and Co don't seem to have pride in Britain and its institutions beyond flags and crap Enoch Powell said 60 years ago.

An Egyptian mummy was found with THE ILIAD on its abdomen. Not some religious scripture, but Homer’s epic poem.

The highlight was the whole split open (butterflied) grey mullet, around 700gr, local from the area caught on the morn, and first "cooked' in the sun, a loval way of doing fish then on charcoal and served with olive oil and lemon dressing.
