It's fascinating to learn how many more kids die in ATV accidents every year than in e-bike accidents, then observing that there is a moral panic about kids riding e-bikes but not about kids riding ATVs.

This should be so obvious that it doesn’t need to be said, but given what kind of weekend it’s been on here, apparently it does:

If you don’t want old rapists running the world, in office, in the board room, making decisions for all of us

get comfortable with “ruining” young rapists’ lives

seeing conservative men debate how to dress online is very funny. can't dress up or wear interesting casualwear bc you've made any visible interest in dress to be a sign of homosexuality. but you feel the need to dress better bc you've linked dress to respectability. a prison of your own making.

The amount of gender in these things is off the charts. They’re dude wipes (boy) but pumpkin spice (girl) but it’s actually dumpkin spice (???). They’re XL (boy) but plant-sourced (girl).
there’s so much to unpack here.

Its astonishing how much of American conservatism boils down to the vague but intense paranoia that somehow someone somewhere is getting something they dont deserve at your expense

When witches are cackling and telling you “Fire burn and cauldron bubble,” take a step back. Breathe. Those are normal things for fire and cauldrons to do. They’re trying to mess with you.

there are moral arguments against the death penalty in its ideal form but in real life you never need to get there. the prior question is "can the state be trusted to end the life only of the rightly convicted without torture?" and the answer is no

Today is the 50th anniversary of the Hyde Amendment, the deadly ban on federal funding of abortion that has shaped the lives of over a million low-income women.

For @motherjones.com, this excerpt of my book explains why the death of Roe started w/ Hyde:

NEW: As Trump’s White House and influencers keep touting the unproven benefits of raw milk, hundreds across the country are falling ill from outbreaks.

Some people get severe indigestion.

And some nearly die.

Here's the story of one toddler who drank it.

A Girl Nearly Died After Drinking Raw Milk. The State Did Little to Punish the Unlicensed Farmer Who Sold It.
California is teeming with black-market dairies, propped up by consumer demand fueled by misinformation. With evidence against one raw goat milk farm, regulators could have sought punitive action. But...

I literally don’t know a single woman who hasn’t been raped, stalked, groped, harassed, or sexually violated in some way at some point in their life.

If you choose to doubt and dox survivors, just know every woman in your life is disgusted by you.

my mom got me all of this "bookish girlie" branded stuff for my birthday earlier this year and i feel bad because i want to get rid of all of it. it makes me feel... belittled? sort of dysphoric? i'm not a girlie, i'm not a girl. but then i feel like a bad person for hating these gifts
