NEW from me: The National Association of Evangelicals (along with several other religious groups) are now joining the USCCB in condemning Defense Sec. Pete Hegseth’s plans to publicly execute Nidal Malik Hasan, also saying doing so promotes a “culture of death.”

The whistle goblins spun back up so fast it was incredible to witness. We're churning out whistles and can get em to you too. linktr.ee/3dwhistles
In case you missed it last night: we are seeing reports all over the country of immigration surges and state violence.

If you need whistles for your community, we will send you 100-3000 3d printed for free, and we will love doing it.

I am in Cap Haitien interviewing people deported from the United States.
I have been doing this kind of work for almost a decade and it literally does not get more dire than this.
People have lost everything they built in the U.S. and are terrified and have no place to go or way to live.

Trump doing his best to make U.S. financial power intolerable to the entire rest of the world.
The Trump administration announced on Friday that it was imposing severe financial sanctions on the International Criminal Court, its latest effort to undermine the global body that seeks to prosecute those accused of war crimes, genocide and other murderous criminal acts.
Trump Administration Hits International Criminal Court With Severe Sanctions
U.S. officials announced the new, sweeping punishments just hours after the Nobel Peace Prize committee gave its annual honor to a former court judge.

New working paper: the Norwegian wealth tax was a huge success. The "exodus" of wealthy people never happened (less than 100 individuals left). Tax revenue increased by 71.5%. No changes in business activity or investment.

Inarguably true
Zelenskyy: While our teams are meeting in Florida, US President is having conversation with Kremlin leader responsible for this war. I believe they are simply using our team as a cover...clearly not acting in good faith as a partner. And this, in my view, is a weak decision from strong partners.

A few questions:

1) Under what authority?
2) How is that fuel supposed to get here?
3) Given "American and Global Marketplace" I assume this is just a convoluted way of saying "tariff waiver"?
Trump announces that the U.S. will buy Russian oil.
This is just a few weeks after Trump signed the Lindsey Graham Russia Sanctions bill, which authorized him to place 100% tariffs on countries that are the biggest importers of Russian oil/gas.
Are we going to tariff ourselves now?

Again, he <doesn't follow laws or court orders> & there is only one solution to this. Every day, more crimes & constitutional violations requiring the people who swore the oaths to Do The Thing.

Yes, it's a Very Bad System. Juan Linz was right about that. He was just wrong about 🇺🇸 exceptionalism.

This arbitrary change in terminology—which Trump and other members of his regime have done before—is a well-worn tactic for authoritarians.

It may seem farcical, but that’s actually the point: it’s an intentional farce used to test the subservience of his supporters and the resolve of his enemies.
Trump: "The White House considers anyone that uses the term, 'Artificial Intelligence,' as opposed to the highly accepted new and more accurate term, 'Super Intelligence,' THE ENEMY! President DONALD J. TRUMP"

This is Nazi rhetoric, full stop. It's not only a call to instigate a race war in the United States, but it's reminiscent of historic European justifications used to incite pogroms against Jews.

People who say things like this are incredibly dangerous, as there is nothing they won't eventually do.
Trump is desperately trying to incite a riot before the election so he can declare an emergency

The news just since I left work:
-A planned livestream of an execution by firing squad
-Trump basically trying to incite a pogrom against Somalis

Nothing mysterious or complicated about what's happening.

I will say, I am far from convinced that this is the automatic trick for winning that a lot of people do, but it is important that *somebody* say this stuff in public, because that's the only way we reestablish any kind of societal norms or push the boundaries of acceptability away from this filth.
Between this and the AES debate tonight, it's refreshing to hear this from democrats. I'm glad every question is not treated as an opportunity to pivot to "kitchen table issues," but is instead met with all the reasons why the R is a gigantic piece of shit.

It's true that I've been frustrated with Sanders many times over the last decade. But he's someone who updated his foreign-policy views in light of the last... well... fifty years. People like Corbyn and Mélenchon are stuck in 1970s era campism.
