Gloria Steinem made a lot of public missteps and I didn’t agree with her on everything and also I think she did more than almost anyone to enable women (me!) to live the lives they want and create a future worth having and I will never ever forget that. May her memory be a blessing

The feminist movement that Steinem did much to mainstream and expand is in retreat, with women’s rights and status eroding conspicuously, and I’d like the usual suspects to consider this before they go on their ahistorical little rants about how she was a CIA stooge or whatever.
