Local developer raises HOA fees a whopping 1400% over 5 years. Now at $90k a year. He owns most of the homes in development, rents them. The minority of resident homeowners have no real legal recourse.

I have a theory that software could have been more like this years ago but essentially didn't do it because it's not *fun* for the programmers and nobody could stop them.
Like how often have you rolled your own whatever instead of using some boring library call?

- the single technical step remaining, the review, is the absolute worst one AND you will fuck it up because you were not involved in the production

1. Claims about AI capabilities are overblown
2. AI has completely revolutionized software development, and will do the same to many other fields

Reading this series I'm reminded of the Dork Tower comic where the guys have spent years playing an absurdly detailed tabletop WWI simulator. The USA player has refused to put a piece on the board all that time in the name of keeping his campaign promises.
