I think it’s fun that all of the core id guys are now normal charming dorky dad types (Romero, Hall, Adrian Carmack) or ontologically evil freaks (John Carmack, Sandy) with American McGee, an ardent libertarian that now lives on a boat and makes plushies, somehow straddling the line.

The ongoing framing that actually owning your media is "low-tech" is disingenuous and sad. In a world where the powers that be are trying to destroy media ownership, we should be embracing and supporting it instead of snarking about how it's "outdated"
