This shit is exactly why I was 41 years old before I had my first trans teacher. And I have done A LOT of school.
No shade to the otherwise queer and allied teachers who did their best by me. Just saying, a trans dude in rural Illinois would have changed my life, and I want that for kids today.

Why? Because a teacher was trans.
