Trans rights are no more in conflict with women's rights than lesbian rights are in conflict with women's rights, and for the same reason.

A new book, OTHER WORLDS THAN THESE (T3), is published today. It's the final book of the Talisman trilogy, co-written with my old buddy, Peter Straub. Thank you for your attention in this matter.

But the real problem is the Green Party of England and Wales declaring that Zionism is a racist ideology.
Israeli Finance Minister Bezalel Smotrich: “The thorough cleansing that we are carrying out now in southern Lebanon is unprecedented.

“They have nowhere to return to. Look at how it looks.

“And by the way, the world isn’t stopping us.”

The Green Party conference has concluded its debate on this motion, titled 'Zionism is Racism'. The result will be announced shortly. Well informed observers anticipate it is likely to pass.

For generations of&nbsp;<a href="https://www.middleeasteye.net/countries/palestine" target="_blank">Palestinians</a>, the olive harvest has been the pulse of our economic survival and a living link to our ancestors. The olive tree, resilient and deep-rooted, is a symbol of who we are and of our connection to this land.</p> <p>As this year's harvest approaches, our villages are gripped by a dread I have not seen before. In recent weeks, the situation across the West Bank has deteriorated sharply. Military raids, arbitrary road closures and daily&nbsp;<a href="https://www.middleeasteye.net/news/settler-attacks-west-bank-take-dangerous-turn" target="_blank">incursions</a>&nbsp;by armed settler militias have turned our countryside into a militarised zone.</p> <p>This season is shaping up to be worse than any we have faced. With Israeli elections&nbsp;<a href="https://www.aljazeera.com/news/2026/7/17/knesset-dissolves-how-will-israel-vote-in-octobers-general-election" target="_blank">set for</a>&nbsp;27 October, political factions are openly competing over who can strike the most aggressive posture towards Palestinians.</p> <p>Settlers are&nbsp;<a href="https://www.middleeasteye.net/news/israel-settler-militias-rise-alliance-thugs-occupied-west-bank" target="_blank">better armed</a>&nbsp;than ever, equipped with assault rifles and military gear, and backed by state institutions. Before a single olive has been picked, settler violence has already reached record levels, with the UN&nbsp;<a href="https://www.middleeasteye.net/news/settler-attacks-west-bank-take-dangerous-turn" target="_blank">recording</a>&nbsp;an average of more than six attacks a day in August.</p> <p>This terror hits close to home. In my village of&nbsp;<a href="https://www.middleeasteye.net/opinion/israeli-settler-hikes-through-my-west-bank-village-next-violent-land-grabs" target="_blank">Qira</a>, in the Salfit governorate, my family and neighbours await the harvest with deep anxiety. Our ancestral groves, like those in surrounding villages, are targeted by the illegal settlements and outposts around them.</p> <h3><a href="https://www.middleeasteye.net/opinion/olive-harvest-nears-palestinian-farmers-urgently-need-international-protection">Read more:&nbsp; As olive harvest nears, Palestinian farmers urgently need international protection</a></h3> <div alt="west bank olive trees" data-embed-button="file_browser" data-entity-embed-display="image:image" data-entity-embed-display-settings="{" data-entity-type="file" data-entity-uuid="f1dff728-a8fc-4592-bcc0-6476a7d8bdb2" data-langcode="en" class="embedded-entity"> <img src="https://www.middleeasteye.net/sites/default/files/2026-09-24T132742Z_1028972123_RC2PPNAZ8D45_RTRMADP_3_ISRAEL-PALESTINIANS-WEST-BANK-OLIVE-TREES%281%29.jpg" width="1400" height="788" alt="west bank olive trees" typeof="foaf:Image" fetchpriority="high"> </div> </div> </div> </article>

gods she's fucking insufferable.

the triple lock should remain. this is just another attack on welfare. nobody should be celebrating this.
Jess Phillips MP says she is 'delighted' with Burnham's plans to drop the triple lock pension pledge.

This is part of a larger scheme to fund a new national care service as part of Labour's net general election manifesto.

I think nearly every trade union has voted to support trans people in the last year or two - often against the wishes of their own leaders - and the transphobes hate that, so I think we're seeing a concerted effort to harass and lawfare unions into being anti-trans.
Today, Alison Ann-Dowling, a Scottish Labour councillor who is a member of the party's ruling body the SEC, together with fellow Scottish Labour Women's Declaration activist Norma Austin Hart, will take their trade union, Community, to court to try to overturn its trans-inclusive policy.

The judicial review through which anti-trans campaigners Alison Ann-Dowling and Norma Austin Hart seek to force their trade union, Community, to amend its trans-inclusive policy, has concluded. Lady Drummond will give her decision at an unspecified future date, likely within the next three months.

One of the faultlines in society is between people who think we should prioritise making sure everyone who's eligible for something gets it, and people who think we should prioritise making sure that nobody who isn't eligible for something gets it
No system is perfect, yes some people might "cheat", but would you rather people who desperately need these things go on suffering so you can be SURE you're not being duped? Why is you not being duped so important that other people have to die for it?
