Another reason why I'm increasing tuning out of BBC Newsnight

Left: Winston Marshall. Guitarist. Father, Sir Paul Marshall, co-owns GB News. On Fox News suggested a mine-laden ‘floating wall’ in the Channel to stop small-boat crossings

Right: Dr. Faiza Shaheen, an economist

Tonia needs to log off X and touch grass.

Being a transphobic bigot turns you into a gullible conspiracist moron in the same way that it makes you misogynistic, homophobic and racist

once you accept one bigoted falsehood you are primed to adopt others so long as they prop up your already existing biases, that's why they all get like this

Seeing as we’re fetishising the Red Wall, as someone who grew up in Stoke and Lancashire with white working class grandparents I’m available to appear on Newsnight to give my opinions!

I don’t think they want mine do they

What would the son of a hedge fund manager - born in Wandsworth, educated at an independent school in London, rich even before finding success with one of the biggest bands of the 2010s - know about the “Red Wall”

Tonia and Kirsteen are LABOUR MPs, Tonia seen here swapping pleasantries with Sharron Davies who is always on the unhinged side of any culture war posting frenzy
It would IMO be better if MPs had not utterly deranged their own brains on Twitter dot com, wildly radicalising themselves and each other.

What a wonderful diverse media it is when the far right son of the owner of Unherd, The Spectator and GB News is considered a vital guest for BBC’s Newsnight

The air tanks used in the Tesla demo empty in six seconds and then take six to seven hours to fill at a specialised station. It’s a total scam to boost his stock price and no one is going to buy this.

The decline of Newsnight, at a time when we need detailed and decent investigative and foreign reporting more than ever, is so depressing.

Marshall is more than an ex singer. He’s Paul Marshall’s son - of GB News, Unherd, Speccie - & is on ARC Forum advisory board

My Dad was a full time (mostly solo) singer for 25 years. While he was never a big name, performing regularly to between 50-100 people allowed him to give my brother and me a decent childhood on one wage.

question for the audience: if you were ultra rich (let’s say $25M), what completely frivolous thing are you buying?

Artists and musicians used to get the train to London (now £300) to live in a squat (now banned) go on the dole and learn their craft (now sanctions if you don’t job seek) maybe do some gigs (music venues have closed as rent was too high)
People don't realize how necessary cheap rent is to the arts.

And most notably: there is no single group of people who has benefited from it all in any measurable way.

Not even transphobes will see their lives improved by this, besides some cruel joy from abusing a minority.
At this point England is simply a case study of the full extent of how TERFs want the world to work.

They are in complete control, and the result is mass confusion, rampant bigotry, pain, cruelty, and the deprivation of bigotry.

In a sane world this would be cause to abandon the project entirely

Remember when the music industry did performative lawsuits against its consumers
Being GenX/Millennial is such a trip. In our lifetimes, we saw people our age getting wild criminal penalties for pirating music and now have to sit and watch as companies gobble up our work with impunity.
Still trying to understand how Napster got shut down, but Anthropic is going public and still hasn’t paid us authors yet after stealing our work.
