Not really sure where a bunch of liberals got the idea that they can’t win without throwing trans people in the garbage, but they’re stupid and cruel and wrong. If you want a human sacrifice so damned bad put gavin newsom in the wicker man

I suppose there is something impressive about coming up from first principles with literally every bad, dumb idea about technology that anyone has ever had. But not the good kind of impressive.

The notation in this paper is GIBBERISH. "Just write a K and then put *anything you like* in parenthesis afterwards!" WHO MADE THESE CHOICES I HATE THEM.

The only time i feel smug while exercising is when i see people running in weighted vests. They had to buy at a store what god gave me naturally.

I didn’t learn to knit or sew until i was an adult! Now i do a ton of both.
inspired by this, poll: what is your favorite "extracurricular" activity you've picked up as an adult?
One of the great joys of my adult life has been realizing that I can just pick up a new skill every so often, take a fun little class in it weekly for a year or two, and simply enjoy meeting people and getting medium proficient and not attempting to become professional in it at all!

there is a skill to asking tough questions in a friendly way and we'd all be better off if it were more widely distributed
I think academic philosophy has gotten a lot less overtly mean over the last couple decades, and that’s overall good. But it is sorta *weird* that as a result a lot of people sorta linger in the hallway after talks to whisper ‘that was shit, right?’ to one another
one thing I’ll note on this is that as a young grad student it can be pretty disheartening to see a talk you’re pretty sure is bs but no one in the q&a is calling it out, and now you’re wondering if there’s something you aren’t getting

I think you have to pick: Cop or Teacher? You can’t be both.

I don’t know about you, but I didn’t get an entire MFA so I could become an Art Punisher.

Same but my b) is cis women who don’t want to be tradwives. But mostly (a) because, yes, it is actually straightforward and not complicated!
Squishiness on trans rights is a dealbreaker for me because (a) it’s a straightforward issue of personal freedom and bodily autonomy much like abortion, and (b) the right is obviously coming after us cis gays next.
trans rights frankly is a top 5, potentially top 3 issue for me despite not being trans and not having any trans family

being bigoted against trans folks not only hurts my trans friends and every trans person but is so predictive of further bigotry

Nurse, airplane pilot, house painter, manager at Woolworths. All jobs that i think i could probably do, wouldn’t necessarily enjoy.
Enough “what would you do on the commune questions”

This is the link to make a comment about the proposed OMB rule change. This rule change does many things, most most centrally it effectively moves the power of the purse from the legislative to the executive branch.

This is incredibly dangerous.

Yes to the whole thread and especially this.
And to be really real, I think the men screaming that it's okay to be masculine don't feel masculine at all and don't know how to be men. They only know how NOT to be women. And that's not the same thing. Abusing, denigrating, and ostracizing us will never make you a man.
