Yes. Art and design have been so de-valued that the act of creating it has been deemed worthless. Meanwhile, the hypocrisy is an absolutely ravenous commercial hunger for art but zero willingness to pay for it.
Valuing artists enough to pay them more than poverty wages is the bare minimum.

What's the job search etiquette these days with follow up messages? I've had a few interviews through indeed and phone calls but since we didn't communicate through email I don't have somewhere to send the "thank you for the interview" email.

I'm basically in a constant panic attack state at work again so I'm genuinely leaving healthcare/patient access. Honestly, if I can't find something before my next lumbar RFA, I'm getting a random part-time job after that procedure.
