When people with courage and conviction stand up for us, we need to stand up for them. Major Jason Watson risked everything today by staring fascism in the face. This is his legal fund. If you can’t donate, please repost.

On May 1, lawyers & judges across America are standing up for the rule of law. Wars w/out congressional approval. Judges threatened for doing their jobs. Court orders defied. The legal profession is responding.

Q: “So, hundreds of millions of dollars in grants were terminated from the NEH. The deficit didn’t change much. And you were paid $150,000 to do that job of reducing the deficit. Do you feel like the $150,000 paid to you was wasteful spending?”

When I got the contract to write a history of concentration camps in 2014, I hoped to keep the US from ending up here. That didn't work out! But now it's critical to understand how much is already in process and the enormity of what's coming. The sooner we act to stop it, the more people we'll save.

Every lawyer. Every bar president and state supreme court justice. Every city and state prosecuting attorney. They all need to read this transcript and @chrisgeidner.bsky.social's reporting.
I don't know when I last read something like the transcript out of Minnesota, so I spent the evening putting this together.
