For whatever it’s worth, I withdrew my support for Ed Sheeran years ago.

We are all opening acts for democracy.
After Robert Kraft rallied stadium owners to prevent Ed Sheeran’s tour from their venues unless he fired Macklemore, Sheeran’s opening acts Finneas, Lukas Graham, Aaron Rowe, as well as Sheeran’s touring band, Beoga, have all announced their departures from the tour.

Mitch McConnell‘s great ability to appear very much dead yet still be alive makes me think he should start a tech company.

Filled up my car’s gas tank. Social media got me thinking that is the smart thing to do. Still just under $4.50 a gallon here in Brooklyn. We will see what happens next week.

If you voted for this, how ya feelin’?

I’m just kidding. I know you don’t talk about feelings.

The richest people are usually really bad at economics and maybe that means we need a new system

The story of this entire era seems to be people who are VERY comfortable choosing to do the wrong thing because they’re afraid of losing a tiny bit of that comfort.

It’s been a disappointing era, to say the least.
Ed Sheeran could have refused to boot Macklemore and forced venues to decide if they wanted to lose all that revenue or not. What is the point of being rich and having a platform if you're so easily bullied into being a useless coward?

On the undue power of billionaires to control arts and culture, and how to have integrity no matter what.

#NoMoreGenocide
Macklemore has put out an incredible statement about being removed from Ed Sheeran’s tour.

His removal was engineered by Trump’s bestie Robert Kraft, the owner of the Patriots and Foxborough stadium who rallied other owners to silence Macklemore for speaking out about Palestine.

3 separate conversations this weekend (none of which I started) about how looking info up on AI is making us dumber, (both anecdotally and the data seems to suggest this as well).

That, of course, seems to be the main intention of these companies—to make us less smart—aside from killing labor.

I've been thinking a lot about the movie Conclave and the need for less certainty and more openness during difficult times. A lot of people want to be certain both factually and morally in a time of immense uncertainty. And that need for certainty blinds us to understanding what is happening.

From the "aliens eating popcorn" perspective, fascinating to see the world realign itself so rapidly around the collapse of the American empire.

Sad Tiafoe lost, but very hard to hate on Ben Shelton, especially with Jalen Brunson in attendance.

L’Shana Tova to everyone celebrating the new year this weekend in the Jewish tradition.

Special shout out to all the Jewbu’s (Jewish Buddhists) out there.

May the year ahead move us toward the liberation of all.

In the 25 years since 9/11, the United States has spent $8 trillion+ on wars that have taken millions of lives in the name of fighting "terror."

Can you imagine if we had instead invested those funds here on climate, health care, housing, and education?

Stop the endless hate. Stop the endless war for profit.
9/11 victim Michael Massaroli’s son: "You do my dad's legacy & the legacy of all victims no honor using this tragedy to spread hate. I've had to spend 25 years seeing people use it to hate on our Muslim brothers & sisters, people who don't look like them."

Can't believe 30% still support this madman. Seriously.

On 9/11 I was two days back in NYC from living at a meditation center in the Northeast Kingdom of VT for the previous 8 months, so it was a crazy reintroduction to "the world," but also clarified what I wanted to spend my life focusing on, which is the opposite of endless, meaningless war.
September 11, 2026 at 3:05 PM
Remember 9/11 and all the good people trying to help each other in NYC that day (and in DC), and also remembering how quickly (as if instantaneously) the great tragedy was propagandized by a harmful American regime looking to start another endless war for personal profit.

Do I have this right?

AI sucks at mimicking the human creativity and critical thinking required to replace human labor because it knows nothing of the real world

but

It’s great at hacking and overtaking computer systems because it is a computer system itself

and therefore, it can kill us all.

Shut it all down and give me my 2003 cell phone back when I had to very very carefully text my friends using the letters above the digits 0 to 9.

We were happier then

if this were a movie it would be called Idiocracy Terminator, and I don't like living in it.
WUT?

Anthropic said it disrupted several plots this year by scientists who used its leading artificial intelligence models to conduct research that could have helped develop biological weapons. Gift link. 👇

Wow, go Providence!
RESULT: David Morales, a socialist challenger, has ousted the mayor of Providence David Smiley.

Add Providence to NYC, DC, and Ann Arbor as socialist wins in mayoral elections.
