This was fun!

I gave up in the 1200s
If you liked this experiment, I published a full piece today in the same vein: a text that gets 100 years older with every section, from a modern blog post to a medieval chronicle.

It's a single story spanning 1000 years of English. See how far you get.

RIP Robert Tinney (November 22, 1947 – February 1, 2026), the artist famous for his playful covers for Byte magazine, a hobbist magazine that ushered in the microcomputing age from the mid-70s through the 90s. I'm honored to have included his work in my own art collection.

Random Album of the Day: Marburg by Pell Mell, 1972.

This is the first album by this German Prog band. The album is organ-heavy and owes as much to Hard Rock of bands like Deep Purple as to the Prog of King Crimson or ELP, with a uniquely German touch reminiscent of the Krautrock greats.

Random Album of the Day: Perch Patchwork by Maps & Atlases, 2010.

This is the first full album by the Experimental Indie Rock band Maps & Atlases. Its simple sound is belied by complex tapped guitar parts and unusual rhythms, which often places them in the 'Math Rock' subgenre.
