I would like media to care more about the reality that tech tycoons want to kill people than what they’re imagining about AI wanting to kill people. We have multi-millionaires (with support from billionaires!) calling for ethnic cleansing, a thing that has happened in living memory. Not theoretical!

Between the PRs of (largely likely stolen) math breakthroughs, claims of "rogue AI" (actually cybercrimes by companies, but whatevs), and doomerist "whistleblowers", it feels like we've been subjected to a gish gallop of hype recently.

So it's getting clear that some of the math abilities AI models have become ❝superhuman❞ at is “not giving credit where credit is due”, like “failing to cite previous work on the subject that inspired you” and, worse, “stealing colleagues' ideas”.
