When I first heard “I’d rather die on my feet than live on my knees.” I thought it was a bad ass choice.

Now I realize it’s not a “choice.” It’s a reaction. Something happens: you stand up, or you cower. Sheeran cowered. Macklemore stood up.

A politician is not your rock star, you should not be their adoring fan.

They are servants of the People.

Spoiler warning: No.
After spending 90+ days away from the Senate, maybe Mitch McConnell will finally support paid sick leave?

“A senior executive at Microsoft said A.I. systems built on the work of others will be seen as ‘an astonishing theft of unprecedented proportions’ and possibly the greatest robbery of labor in human history, according to court documents unredacted Thursday in an ongoing Manhattan lawsuit.”
Docs in A.I. copyright suit reveal startling admission by Microsoft exec over ‘astonishing theft’
The admission appeared in a newly unredacted filing in the landmark copyright infringement legal battle playing out between newspapers like the Orlando Sentinel and tech companies Microsoft and OpenAI...

Watching a sitting US Senator in obvious mental decline have his vote redirected in realtime by an unelected, unknown person really cannot slip by unaddressed.

Is there any elected Democrat who could be bothered to bring this up? Look into it? Ask someone at least one question about it?

I really miss when Peter Navarro was pretending to be a sick old man because he was absolutely terrified of going to prison on his contempt of congress charge. Good times.
notable -- WH official Peter Navarro trashes Warsh from the WH: "I'm not a Warsh guy. I see him not as MAGA. I see him as Make Recessions Great Again, or Make Stagflation Great Again. He's selling us out...I fear it's political...they made a monumental mistake, and it's gonna come back to haunt us."

I really do find it odd that the “Eat The Rich” crowd suddenly believe all the hyped up bullshit the Tech Broligarchs are saying… just because the jargon appeals to their preconceptions.

Talk about Artificial Intelligence… the irony.

The fact that there are people like this currently serving in government is a big part of the reason I’m not super optimistic about the midterms. We don’t exactly have a rich history of making good decisions in elections.
Minnesota Republican Rep. Bidal Duran opposes free school lunches because he says hungry kids are a myth 👇

DURAN: We should not be letting a kid go to school hungry. I realize that. But--

HOST: I don't think in this state that happens

DURAN: I have yet to hear of one

I know I am not the median voter. But when I watch Trump performances like the one we just endured in North Carolina, I can't escape the feeling that our problems go much deeper than "affordability" and we're whistling past the graveyard if we reduce our politics to that issue.

New in PN: Retire in peace

"McConnell would never be allowed to drive a car, babysit young children, or file his own taxes. Why, then, should a cognitively incapacitated 82-year-old retain one of the most important positions of power within the national government?"
Retire in peace
McConnell is the latest example of an incapacitated politician refusing to let go.

They literally have no record they can run on so they’re dredging up the red scare from the 50s. 🙄 In a functioning society, none of these assclowns would be able to show their faces in public ever again.

Do we think Mitch McConnell is aware enough to know that what people are going to remember him for is his condition right now and his “freezing” episodes over the last couple of years, and not anything he did as senate majority leader. This is his legacy.

I also think we should be running a platform of no more politicians from Silicon Valley worth hundreds of millions of dollars playacting as working class heroes.
Progressives are beating big money and AIPAC by running on a platform of:

No aid to Israel
No foreign wars
Taxing billionaire wealth
Medicare for All

This agenda is how we win.

Gotta love the half-assed message discipline here. Took an entire sentence before blaming the Dems. You’re supposed to make that one the top line, buddy. Sure the Dems have been out of power for 18 months and sure Trump started this misbegotten war, but we can never forget the real imaginary enemy.
