One more model will fix it, I swear
Reuters got some of the IPO docs. Anthropic is a total dog of a company. Spent $12.6bn to make $4.6bn in revenue in 2025, $7.33bn of which was compute costs. Operating loss of $8bn. Losses getting worse year over year. Amazing stuff

This week's column is about the Starmer-like self-destruction of the impending decision to approve new oil and gas drilling in the North Sea. It might appease certain lobby groups, but it sabotages Burnham's own project and drives voters away. Utter madness. www.theguardian.com/commentisfre...
Is Burnham trying to appease Trump? Or Reform? What other reason is there for these North Sea oil plans? | George Monbiot
Climate catastrophe is on our doorstep – yet Labour’s impending approval of further drilling will bring more pain for negligible gains, says Guardian columnist George Monbiot

MLS needs to shift the league schedule to "alternate timeline where we jail big oil execs and get serious about addressing global warming in the 1990s."
Playing through winter weather was a primary concern for the MLS calendar switch, particularly for northern teams.

But heat index will hit 110º for tomorrow's Nashville–Miami match. This is bad for fans and objectively much more dangerous for players than the cold. Fewer games in this is good.

This is a very good point. Fifa needs football but football doesn't need Fifa.

Fifa has no intrinsic value. There is no special reason it should be maintained and reformed. We could close it tomorrow and organise the World Cup and other tournaments anew and not one thing would be lost.
My entire life I’ve never called it the FIFA World Cup. I’ve always called it the World Cup. Fans don’t give a shit about FIFA. If national teams showed up for a World Cup tournament not held by FIFA we would all watch it. World Cup is the brand. FIFA is nothing.

The point isn't to produce essays, it's to teach students how to think for fuck's sake. The minute you automate that, it's over. You might as well close the course. Which they're also doing. This is an attack on learning, and everyone is just shrugging.
