We have clear line-of-sight to the full depletion of all the oil stockpiles except the Chinese strategic reserves in an amount of time measured in weeks, which is probably the point at which oil prices will double or even more.

Can anyone explain why conventional power plants in Germany increased their output this afternoon, even though power prices were negative and the country was exporting massive amounts of electricity? What stopped them from maintaining morning output? What am I missing here?

Etwas, dass beim Thema Sondervermögen außen vor geblieben ist, ist das Thema Vergabe von klimafreundlichen Aufträgen an die Industrie. @agoraind.bsky.social zeigt bspw dass schon heute alle wichtigen Korridore mit klimafreundlichem Stahl+Zement saniert werden könnten, wenn es vorgeschrieben wäre

Absolutely amazing: they've got so much solar in Australia that they need more people to use more of it, so the gov't has instructed energy retailers to offer *at least three hours of free power* during the middle of the day.

The remains of large numbers of fallen soldiers were transferred between Russia & Ukraine in recent days. The operation took place with the help of the International Committee of the Red Cross. Amid the ongoing conflict this was a small but important case of humanitarian cooperation.
