And even if ccp had been inclined to step in at all (it wasn't) it also didn't really hire icelanders or anything to work on WW stuff. It was left to do what it wanted and WW kept hiring on their own initiative.

It took a long ass time for anyone to call out the edgy racism bits of EVE online too. There was always a pretty rank dudebro stench on the company in that exact era which didn't help here

We never ever have to imply some of their mythology about themselves was correct or true, we do not have to use the culture of a small island nation to do so, and it's not apt to simply repeat any part of their crimes unthinkingly. That's as frank and direct as I'm going to get on this.

As an icelander it really really doesn't. Most of this stuff is just a misapplied poetry manual. The conditions for reaching Asgard are not as lenient as this claims, for example.
