RIP Annie Dillard, a great writer I've turned to often, both for coaching on how to write, and on how to best live in the world. "How we spend our days is, of course, how we spend our lives" she said; a reminder to be present and intentional. I will miss new words from her and cherish the old.

After fifteen years of studying the anti-vax movement, I came to the conclusion that upholding legal requirements for vaccines for school entry is the single most important thing we can do.

You cannot use facts to convince someone who did not employ facts to make their decision. So use the law.

I made dinner for my abuser a bunch of times. You have to play nice while you're planning your escape so you don't get dead. Max Miller is a textbook abuser.

A good commissioner steps in now before every WNBA game becomes a rightwing performance space, like school board meetings were during peak CRT. You just have to throw the hammer down on this. Do not give them an inch.

i am convinced that @nytimes.com cooking section inserts mistakes and mildly confusing directions in order to drive engagement in their comments, :) i will just say, that seemed like a lotta leeks going into the oven. cooking.nytimes.com/recipes/7843...

Here is my controversial take after seeing "The Odyssey." It was fun! Great acting! Didn't feel long! (could have used with about four fewer trailers). Accidentally got seats in one of those immersive theaters that shake and blow wind, not sure about that part. :) Life is short, have fun.

Listening to Dylan series of dreams:

I was thinking of a series of dreams
Where nothing comes up to the top
Everything stays down where it's wounded
And comes to a permanent stop
Wasn't thinking of anything specific
Like in a dream when someone wakes up and screams
Nothing truly very scientific
