A quick plea...
if you get a follow from someone in Gaza, please follow them back. Talk to them, know their names, they are wonderful, dignified people in desperately heartbreaking circumstances. If you can help practically, great, if you can't that's ok too, just stand next to them and know them.

I hear more and more from foreigners that protests in Georgia "have ended." (???)

Excuse me? Refresh your feeds, please.

We protest every night for 4 months and more people come out whenever there's some incident, however minor. 1/

RIP Hind Rajab.

Today is one year on since this little six year old was killed (my daughter's age) - and then so were the two brave medics who came to rescue her, as agreed by the IDF, as she cowered in her family car with her family dead around her.

I will never forget this story.

Sometimes I feel hopeless about what is happening to the NHS and what people are doing about it. I think we either need to go all in, find the millions of people who care and get a *lot* louder, or we give up.

I want to go all in, but I can’t go all in alone. Share if you think we need to fight.

Just in from mammoth interview session to two bits of news. One that a DV perp got locked up because of something I did and that a vulnerable constituent had a a massive wrongful debt written off after our intervention. This is why I came to politics, this is why I'll just keep cracking on.

IMPORTANT- We are running a huge and ambitious campaign to rebuild the NHS *without* NHS privatisation. Please support us to do so- we have our work cut out. If every person who sees this donated £1 if they could, we would hit our crowdfund goal today:

Aside from physical harm, the psychological trauma for the survivors will be immense. This is dictionary definition terrorism.

Quick thought on Georgia.
While the world's attention has been focused elsewhere, they've been peacefully, but doggedly, fighting for their human rights and democracy all through December. It's been inspirational.
Happy New Year from the land of the free, Tbilisi, Georgia! 🇬🇪🇪🇺🇺🇸

I seem to have a lot of messages, and I'm struggling a bit to work my way through them all.
Firstly, no one needs to apologise for sending a message, especially those in difficult circumstances, you really aren't bothering me.
Be safe, and best wishes to all of you.

Europe isn't as bad as America, although its still not great.
Any strategy to improve the lives of everyone, safer, saner, happier, healthier societies starts with pushing up from the bottom, not being led from the top. Everyone having some disposable income is crucial to your localised economies.

Since 2012, Putin's puppet Assad was there to make sure 3 pipelines never got finished, projects that would have brought cheap Saudi and Qatari gas into the European market.

All the brutality Russians inflicted on the people of Syria was to ensure Russian EU gas monopoly

This is from 8 years ago.
Long but worth reading.
After the second World we re-imagined a better world based on democracy, human rights and mutual cooperation... I think we need to do something similar to that again. We need a better story to tell.

For decades, the United States and Britain’s vision of democracy and freedom defined the postwar world. What will happen in an age of Donald Trump and Nigel Farage?
