Happy to share our preprint on a subset of ZBTB BTB domains as highly efficient natural SUMO 'supersubstrates'. The work was spearheaded by a great postdoc, El Hadji Cisse, with input from other team members and in collaboration with @defossezlab.bsky.social and @ucagne.bsky.social
A new class of inherently efficient SUMOylation substrates
SUMOylation is an essential eukaryotic ubiquitin-like post-translational modification that plays a central role in the regulation of various nuclear processes and stress responses. It canonically occu...

From soft pinks and florals under the Istanbul sun, to white lace among the mosques, a little Grand Bazaar moment, and black lace and burgundy after dark, I may have accidentally turned this trip into my own little fashion tour 😂

Istanbul, you are beautiful (except the Manila-like traffic😪) 🕌🌷✨

Great tribute to the discovery by Barbara Pearce of clathrin, the first protein found to act in membrane traffic, along with her mentoring and support of the pioneers (many of whom were other women) who revealed the workings of this key player in cellular function.
Happy 50th anniversary, Clathrin!
