Learned this morning on The Downballot's Discord that actor Robert Duncan McNeill, AKA Tom Paris of "Star Trek: Voyager," is running as a Democrat for a seat on the Wasatch County, UT Council!

Ya know, Trump responds well to blackmail. Just ask Bob Guccione’s people about his land deal in AC. Just have the heads of @msnow and @cnn.com reach out to talk about Natalie and Diapers. Those seats will return in a period that could be clocked with an egg timer.

THIS! This all day long and twice on Sunday!
What "calculus"?

The calculus is Republicans are always far worse for trans people, and any people really, than Democrats.

Vote for the Democrat. Anyone saying otherwise is a fool or a wrecker.

THIS! This is the fucking message we need!
Everyone have a nice two days and get it out of your system, because between Tuesday and Election Day, we are not doing the Bsky "You have to EARN my vote" and "I live in a blue state so my protest vote is fine" and "The two parties are the same" thing. Take all that look-at-me shit somewhere else.>

Covid rage had subsided. Then Congress called Fauci to testify.
Lawmakers’ anger boiled as they questioned the former Covid czar.

I‘ll just note that the word “friends” appears only in the headline
Definitionally, these are not “friends.”

Chatbot companies brag about creating “PhD-level intelligence.” But one skill PhDs develop early is how to walk away from cranks. A chatbot can’t. PhDs learn to vet ideas fast and either avoid dry wells or find how to turn failed forays into learning experiences. Chatbots don’t.

@oliverbullough.bsky.social reckoning that 80% of the luxury watch trade is for money laundering unlocked something for me.

Dear media,

You don't have to say "E Jean Carroll accused Trump of defamation and rape." You can say "Trump defamed and raped E Jean Carroll." It's been adjudicated.

Thank you

When community members gathered at Delaney Hall in Newark to expose the inhumane conditions inside, they were met with aggression from the State Police. Turning a blind eye to human suffering and responding with force against demonstrators is a failure of leadership. @hcrichardson.bsky.social

This is as succinct and searing an overview of the conflagration at Delaney I've read.
Gov. Mikie Sherrill's mishandling of protests outside the Newark ICE detention center, with violent state troopers running amok, is a national embarrassment

To make it worse, Sherrill invoked the vile "outside agitator" trope of 1960s segregationists

My new column www.inquirer.com/opinion/miki...
Mikie Sherrill’s state police riot in Newark is a national disgrace | Will Bunch
New Jersey state troopers meant to protect Newark protesters from ICE are violently shredding the First Amendment instead.
