Amazing how progressive people start talking and sounding *exactly* like MAGA as soon as you confront them with the moral catastrophe of factory farms. Sneering, joking, wrapping themselves in misinformation or pseudoscience, reveling in their own cruelty. "I don't care and you can't make me."

Change is coming, whether you like it or not. And its later than you think.
It's too late for non-radical futures.

A slide from a recent talk by @kevinclimate.bsky.social on the stark choice that faces us.

I propose a new solution to climate change called GRIFT (Greenhouse Reduction In Future Time). It involves inventing an omnipotent AI god to invent a time machine to go back to the 1990's and cut emissions.

I'm seeking big investment from climate change avoiders and delayers. Offsets available. 🤑💰💲

And when you look at the CSO data, split county by county, it says the same thing. Everywhere, women are poorer.

No matter how you calculate it, no matter what dataset you use, Irish women earn less. Everywhere.

Fed up with people shirking responsibility by arguing that the UK causes just 1% of emissions?

Here are two fantastic analogies from a primary school teacher, Mark in Coventry, who called Sheila Fogerty on @lbc.co.uk - one involving dog poo 😆

Also, renewables and EVs will NOT stop the rapid increase in heatwaves, droughts, wildires, floods, storms, coastal erosion, etc. Only ending fossil fuel emissions will stop them from getting much worse.

I work at a public library. People who want to use AI seem to have no trouble doing so. People who don't want to use AI have a harder time. I crowdsourced and then finalized this document "How to disable or avoid intrusive AI" and then gave it a short URL: notoai.org Please pass along if it's useful

A hero. A secular saint. The idea that she might be a terrorist is so ridiculous that it makes a mockery of the police, the law, the UK government and anybody else associated with this sorry farce.
Britain today: An elderly woman in a wheelchair is escorted away by the police and risks up to 14 years in prison for supporting terrorism since the Home Secretary proscribed a protest group in 2025.

Her crime? She said: "I support Palestine Action and I encourage you to join".

Dr Anthony #Fauci has been awarded three prestigious Irish awards to honour his important work in the field of infectious diseases and immunology, and in recognition of his courage and integrity during the Covid19 pandemic.

That he should be so persecuted in his own country is deeply shocking.

Free Marwan Barghouti.

#FreeMarwanBarghouti
Whenever the apt analogy is drawn between South African Apartheid and Israeli Apartheid, cynics and doubters ask: If so, where is the Palestinian Nelson Mandela? The answer is: Languishing in prison, tortured and menaced around the clock for 24 endless years. His name? Marwan Barghouti.

Is there any difference between killing a man with a sword, and doing it with climate change? Or a woman or a child or that matter?
Mencius said to King Hui, "Is there any difference between killing a man with a sword, and doing it with a style of government?" (Mn. 1A.4)
