every older person I know gets 3-5 scam phone calls a day and has just accepted that's what their phone does now, and apparently noone in power seems to give a shit about this
UK equivalent of this is phone scams rather than email ones -- but we all need to realise how bad this has got, it destroys the ability to use the phone, and it destroys trust.
Random note; since my dad passed away last December, I’ve been handling all of my mom’s mail and accounts. It is incredible. How many scams are aimed at the elderly in this country, including my companies that superficially seem legitimate. Every week her mail is full of this crap.
