The history of software is one of feminising and devaluing women's labour as nerdy, clerical, following specifications and requirements determined by men, and then valorising a presumed male hacker figure who disrupts and manfully disregards the needs of those relying on custodial maintenance work.

One of the frustrations about "engineering" as a discipline is that the heart of the actual discipline is about taking care to make sure things work within specifications and requirements, but tech industry gender politics has characterised engineering as a work of disruption and disregard.

The government *still* isn’t tracking how often immigration agents detain U.S. citizens.

We are.

500+ Americans have been handcuffed, held at gunpoint or held against their will in Trump’s second term.

Our tally is almost certainly an undercount.

Study finds 43 percent of Harvard's white students are legacy, athletes, related to donors or staff
The number drops dramatically for black, Latino and Asian American students with less than 16 percent each coming from those categories, the study said.

I can say without fear of contradiction that Pete Hegseth is the stupidest and least qualified of them all.

He is a danger to the entire world.

He must be impeached.
