Data Centres are also a land grab by multinational countries. Local Hero vibes here ( yeah l know) A promised boost of temporary jobs only. Then what 🤷‍♀️ Farmland gone, a security guard or two hired & water/electricity drained.
I haven't renewed my membership yet. l'm going to look at what happened again in Holyrood. I know data centres are needed but its like the speculative building trade on acid with the rapid growth in planning applications

We shouldn't be selling off farmland & we don't know their full impact
Ok Scotties, wtf happened in Holyrood over the Data Centre vote because it's as clear as bird poop on a statue on the Duke of Wellingtons head 🤷‍♀️

The end of the year is 3 months away so wtf is the point of voting for ?Labours ammendment 🤷‍♀️

More than 75% of planned ScotWind capacity is owned by parent companies outside the UK.

Here our economist @jujupepe.bsky.social gives evidence to the Scottish Parliament on how Scotland could capture more of the wealth created off our coast to secure long-term returns for the people of Scotland.

SNP GAIN from IND (previously LAB)

Congratulations Leigh and the Scottish National Party! 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿🇪🇺🏆

This was billed as a tight Labour/SNP marginal, but in the end the SNP had a clear victory and Labour nearly got pipped to second place by Farage.

A piece of election trivia: this is the first time…
1/3
In the Avondale and Stonehouse (Ward 5) local government by-election, Leigh Payne of the Scottish National Party (SNP) has been elected, at stage 9 with 1,025 first preference votes.

'Oh... it turns out there aren't that many.'

Never believe your own BS. And yet the Right do this a lot.
Reform have launched an app & game for real-time tracking of boats crossing the channel. But some supporters have said it is boring because so little happens.

As ever it's going to be up to the people to send the fash packing. The BBC and the government aren't going to bother.
Nick Robinson on Today is literally talking about ‘legitimate concerns’ after second night of organised men dressed in black - sorry ‘protesters’ - mobilising en masse in another littoral town.

This is how street fascism is normalised

Is that Rory Stewart in this photo? Why on earth is he an attendee at this "summit"? An ex Prisons minister in Boris Johnson's government. An interesting person but what qualifies him to be hanging out with these AI tech people? Maybe it's material for his next podcast with Alistair Campbell?
