It's not flooding the zone, it's seizing a crisis in order to ram through a slew of rapid fire changes that are a gift to multinational corporations and are the opposite of what we ran on. What do you call that again?
A reporter asked the government about the Trumpian tactic of flooding the zone with this bill (it’s an omnibus!) and the ministers appear outraged. They balk at a question that…accurately characterizes what they’re doing.

As someone who has been tweeted about personally by Rowling. And who spends my whole life trying to fight the damage caused by the litigation she funds. I think, personally, I would be less harmed by you giving me an actual kick in the ribs than watching the new Harry Potter & trying to justify it.
As a new Harry Potter trailer makes the rounds, it bears repeating that there’s no way to watch this show without supporting J.K. Rowling’s bigotry and the structural violence she’s inflicting on the trans community.

I will never, EVER get over the fact that Aaron Swartz died because he allegedly trespassed while trying to access works that were mostly IN THE PUBLIC DOMAIN, but open plagiarism and theft is acceptable now because it's suddenly in capital's interest for it to be.
They didn't like Aaron Swartz's goals (making scientific knowledge more accessible to the public) and they do like the LLM companies' goals (permanently crushing the labor market for knowledge workers)
say what you will about the myriad valid concerns with current LLMs but I personally will never get over the fact that Aaron Swartz was prosecuted to his literal death for downloading JSTOR and then a decade later, they downloaded & ingested the entire world and our IP laws just went ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
