coming back to a really old programming project is hard, but trying to pick up a project you put down two weeks ago is so much harder. what the heck was i even in the middle of, where was i going with all this, am i accidentally not following my old design and messing everything up?

still working on that tui thing. it's getting there! not trying to reinvent ncurses, it's more that i wanted a generic system that renders into text buffers. i want this to work on my software renderer and a normal console and the 3ds and etc. #programming

programming satisfies some part of my adhd brain. i'm working on the 3ds drawing program and go "oh i should rewrite it" so i start designing modules, then i wanted a tui library so i'm working on that now. ironically, i don't like it when videogames are designed like this lol (too much stress!)

i think i'm finally accepting that i ACTUALLY have pretty bad adhd and that my coping mechanisms, which carried me through my whole life, have not been working for the past several years. it makes everything so difficult... unless i'm hyperfocusing, i can't do anything at all.

keep reminding myself there doesn't need to be a reason for what i draw and that "avoiding stagnation" is a means to an end i don't care about #art
