Alito is not the only Republican justice who has embraced this disturbing rhetoric in recent years. It is instructive to break down what they are saying: we shouldn't count all the votes, because some segment of the electorate would become angry that their preferred candidate didn't win.
i'm not over Alito saying we shouldn't count ballots that are mailed on or before Election Day but arrive shortly afterwards bc they can “radically flip” the “apparent outcome”

cannot stress enough that, until all ballots are counted, there's no outcome to flip!

Again, you're cutting a whole ass ad (which, you know, is not free) to repeat your opponent's framing and message!
Another Iowa Dem releases an ad in response to anti-trans ads against her.

"We need to protect kids, and we need common sense rules to keep sports fair for boys and for girls. Parents know what's best for our kids. Washington needs to stay out of it."

From Lindsay James, IA-02.

It sounds reductive, but if they had just resisted the temptation of the Iran War they might well have managed to keep things to a normalish 6 year itch midterm. But the fact that Trump started a war without asking anyone or funding it, *then lost it expensively*? That's uncharted waters of fucked.
I knew a lot of marginal voters in Texas in 2024, and high oil plus Iran war plus rising prices on everything is a hefty blow to his casual fan base

I think we should probably raise their salaries and just ban them from holding any private assets other than a primary and maybe one secondary residence.
It’s insane that people in Congress are paid over $174K a year in taxpayer dollars whilst making millions of dollars from insider trading whilst getting 18 vacations a year as Americans all over the country struggle to pay for rent, gas and groceries.

this is a stupid decision by Hasan if he actually cares about getting the people he supports elected

you can think this is true and you can still consider optics enough not to go on “the Axios show” and make sure AES gets to spend the whole next week being asked about it at every event

honestly, nothing here flags as particularly bad (except the ubers to a nightclub)? the main crime here is that we have no state capacity and need to fly in experts from out of state to do infrastructure projects which should be routine

morally wrong AND terrible politics, kaptur should be ashamed of herself
Holy shit.

Marcy Kaptur becomes the latest Dem to release an anti-trans ad, and its worse than all the rest combined.

"I voted WITH Republicans to keep transgender ideology out of schools, and let me be clear, boys should NOT play in girls sports."

This is getting out of control.

This is far worse than Gina Hinajosa or James Talarico. It's even worse than fucking Amy Acton, Rob Sand or Josh Turek.

Democrats - Stop stabbing Trans People in the back. No hyper Transphobic Voters will give you credit for being 20, 40, 60, 80% of the way to GOP Transphobia.

It's never enough.

This is so fucking unnecessary and grotesque, no one gives a shit about trans people when everything costs a bazillion dollars.

I know that there are people who are responding to this with "He's right but he can't say it."

Abdul El-Sayed probably has to make more annoying noises denouncing these statements but at the end of the day...

If there are any voters who can't vote for AES due to Piker? The damage is already done.

TMZ is gonna be good for DC, honestly. Too many people in the press in that town are broken from being there and don't even bother doing the fun part of the job which is digging into all the shit away from the Capitol. Also TMZ isn't scared of Trump or want to suck him off the way so many others do

This is just sad, man...

Who the Hell are the 7% who would not vote for a Christian?

20% who would not vote for a Jewish Candidate is also concerning.

I simply don't buy that Texas will only be 2 points to the right of the nation.

Which implies the nation will be super blue moreso than anything bad for Talarico or Hinojosa.
New Siena College/ReconMR TEXAS poll is absolutely brutal for Republicans—could be a generational wipeout if it comes to pass:

SEN
Talarico 49
Paxton 43

GOV
Hinojosa (D) 49
Abbott (R) 45

Generic ballot
R47
D46

9/8-11, 614 LV, live caller/text-to-web, MoE 4.3%
