Thank you to everyone who came to Re-Reading the News yesterday night! It was great to hear the panelists speak about exploring F.E.W. Harper, how her life intertwines with the stories of the girls who were raised at the Colored Orphan Asylum, and how it will all come together in their documentary.

Even though half the age of the city it resides in, Johns Hopkins University has deep roots in it. Its original campus was seated in the Mount Vernon neighborhood.

Box Friend went on a trip to the @jhmedarchives.bsky.social! They assisted a researcher who wanted to take a look at Vivien Thomas’ papers. Chesney Medical Archives acts as the official archival repository for Johns Hopkins Medicine, Nursing, and Public Health.

From the 50th to the 150th, congratulations Class of 2026! In the pages of the 1926 Hullabaloo, a student reflected on their time at Hopkins and the many changes that occurred. The student laments, “But what did we do as a class in those four long and variegated periods of time?”.
