She feeds my physical body with nutritious foods; she washes my fears, my insecurities, my addictions, my sickness, my illness. She is my cure for all things that ail me.

Yellow Toadflax

Found a patch of this beautiful flower that resembles a snapdragon flower. It sure is amazing to find new plants you never observed before. This particular flower brought me a sense of peace and joy. Just sitting with it allowed me to grow respect for it.

Treat others like gold
Live the day like it's your last
Do NOT be normal
Be unpredictable in a predictable world
Go against the grain
Be the frickin BLACK SHEEP
Do the opposite of others
Live with understanding as your shild
Live with forgiveness to be free
Find joy from within
Home is but a dream

Sometimes remembering who we truly are can give us peace and fill our emotions with a great sense of awe. As we grow, we forget the very thing we are; then stress and chaos arise in our observable world. Stay peaceful in your journey through life.

Mourning Cloak butterfly

For a few days now I have seen this little fella flying around the meadow I kept trying to get a picture of it but it doesn't like to sit still very long. Well today was my day to finally get a picture, not the best but at least I was able to get one. 🕊️

I just love seeing these in the garden; they bring a sense of peace and tranquillity to the surroundings. Often just catch them fluttering about, enjoying the native and none native plants. We never spray or use any synthetic chemicals on our property. #leaveitnatural

A Mason or potter wasp observed on a goldenrod flower. These goldenrod blooms sure attract a large variety of insects. Every day I go out to have my morning coffee or tea I seem to witness a plethora of buzzing insects flying around the Goldenrod patch.

I believe this is a type of Carrot wasp. It seems to enjoy the Goldenrod flowers. Not sure what that huge tail is for, but it sure makes it look intimidating. LOL

Observed this little fella in the bull thistle flower head, not sure what he was doing there, likely feeding on the sweet nectar or laying eggs among the protective petals, or maybe just resting after a long day of foraging.

Some of the most severe drought conditions are found in Canada, BC, this year. The North Okanagan has seemed to be hit the hardest.

Pelegrina proterva -> Common white-cheeked jumping spider

Seen this little fella jumping around the Brome grass and thimbleberry plants. Not a spider fan after being bitten by a Black widow a few years ago, but this guy seemed friendly.

Margined Calligrapher Fly has something to say

The paths crossed again; nice to see you.
The time I saw you there, I remembered myself again.
Next time we fly away together to dance the night away
Reflections in it made me understand
There I left the key of remembering

Truth
Snagged this from FB. This may make some people uncomfortable but I think it highlights just how far we've come from what's natural, from our relationship to the Earth that sustains us and our beautiful relatives we share it with.

I saw this Sheep Moth yesterday flying around, out of the corner of my vision. I saw it and was quickly amazed by its light colours, so I grabbed my camera and followed it around, trying to get some decent photos, but it doesn't like to stay in one spot for long; it keeps moving. LOL, Tricky fellow🕊️

Bull Thistle

A top flower for pollinators, it may be seen as invasive by some gardeners. However, it helps bring balance and benefits while coexisting with garden plants. Take time to admire its wonders before jumping into a mindset of "I need to remove this weed". Maybe leave it!

Alfalfa Flower

A legume happily fixing nitrogen, pulling it from the atmosphere and putting it into the soil for other plants to use. A great food source for many animals and insects.

Goldenrod

A resilient native flowering plant thrives in poor soil, supporting insects and pollinators. They also serve as food for wildlife while remaining green into late fall. They also have a very showy yellow flower, great for backdrop gardens.

Home sweet home, the world is my home, nature my teacher.🕊️
Dance your dance like the world is watching
Self reflections
Seen you looking back
There we were in the middle
Naked we stand together
To see all is one
Is to be freed from
Together, we build
Reality to observe
Memory of lived experiences
