About three months ago Tavia Nyong’o & I conceived of a collection of essays on The Epstein Class and the University meant to consider the ubiquity is sexual violence in the university & the fundamental fact that access to young women has long been a side perk of university employment & attendance.

What a country builds with public money is a statement of what it values. We must build for those already living through fires, floods, and extreme weather—not for the balance sheets of companies unwilling to risk their own capital on a new pipeline.

Canada is preparing to spend tens of billions building a pipeline the oil companies themselves won’t finance.

If this project made economic sense, industry would be leading it. Instead, the public is being asked to take the risk while foreign-owned oil companies collect the returns.

This is outrageous. They are plopping down a data centre right in the middle of Brick Lane with its racialised population. The proximity of the space to the City gives high frequency traders just a fraction of a second more. At the cost of environmental racism:
