That was an ICE officer in Minnesota, clearly violating the First Amendment. From threatening onlookers with violence to telling people recording them that they are going into a “domestic terrorist” database.

Jokes aside, the point of these confirmation processes are to largely just assess “is this person qualified” even if they don’t hold your politics. What too many people fail to grasp is that “not willing to be party to raging lawlessness” is a qualification standard
