Blacksky was one of the 1st PDSs to allow open sign ups
We are also now the largest PDS deployment that doesn't run any of bsky's code

Sorry for the turbulence. It was the one-time price to pay for being able to build features like private accounts or sign-in via phone number w/o waiting on Bluesky

Fun fact: the opportunity loss is actually getting worse, as we're seeing more people get away with nothing more than some bad PR for engaging in blacklisting.

The subtlety is gone. Anyway, I'm going to nurse my throat, but the people who are profiting off these genocides are foul.
At the end of the day, I want the world to be better. I want all people to have what they need. I want people to have a world worth living in. I want to end all genocides.

It is WILD how much shit I get and how many opportunities I have lost for this stance.

Anti-Genocide is Suicide Prevention.

One year later, @domguan.bsky.social spent some time with the group of local women tending to his memorial. His family is still demanding answers:

One year on from the killing of Silverio Villegas González, a community of Franklin Park women continue the fight to keep his memory alive–through art, flowers, and “a culture of celebrating life.”

the revolution will be easily hacked because you don't use a privacy screen, re-use passwords, don't have 2FA enabled, never use a VPN, and leave your laptop unlocked in both semi-public and fully public locations.

I was able to demo Maize Borg on the convention floor last year but now opportunities like that are gone. Losing the Intersection and an Unplugged in Texas of all states, are really telling decisions by Pax.

That said, us folks are good at making spaces for ourselves and will have to do the work.

Also wild that after firing Leeah, they took away the ability to have 17+ panels and events.

(I'm basing this on the fact that it is no longer an option on the application.)

They'll always believe they're good people because they aren't wishing children harm directly.

They're just encouraging those that are to do so in their name, and their hands remain clean. That's all they care about as they take up stolen land, supping on stolen wealth, on the bones of children.

At the end of the day, there's a subsect of people who will say "I believe that Palestinian children deserve dreams but I can only condemn their parents and any attempt to free them" until all the Palestinian children are dead.

Then, silently, they'll let out a sigh of relief, having done nothing.

Know that this country did not come together after 9/11.

They went after every brown skinned person they could. Americans didn't know the difference between a Arab and a Sikh. We perpetrated and tolerated violence and misinformation on these people.

From 2020 up until recently, Illinois State Police maintained a publicly available map online of 30,000 people that it labeled as "offenders" — including their names, addresses, dates of birth, and social security numbers. Just sitting there for anyone to access if they knew where to look.
For years police have been building a digital infrastructure with personal information on people with criminal backgrounds in the name of public safety — often exposing people's personal information online without their knowledge.
