I truly don't know if it's worth it to delete my accounts when social media turns rotten. It only ends up hurting me and my career and I'm running out of places to go. And when I leave, my work gets fed into LLMs anyway. What am I supposed to do?

I've been getting FB ads lately that have "female presenting nipples" in them. I'm not mad at them. I'm mad that if I draw two undetailed circles on the torso of a femme, I get punished.

I think there is a big, measurable difference between that philosophy and the idea I see people pushing now, which is that the long arc of history bends toward justice *on its own* and that protest is disloyal and unnecessary. Protest has always been the only direct, effective influence we have.

Plenty of people always have and always will see me as a shitlib. I mostly just believe in getting as far left as you can through electoralism. I do believe that this country mainly chooses leaders from the center (or far right) and that the best hope is to push the culture leftward over time.

Here’s the thing: Did this change because people sat quietly at home and reassured each other things would change? Or did they change because queer people tirelessly, relentlessly made a ruckus until supporting us became the safer option? History gives exactly one answer to this question.
I’m a queer who had to fight for my rights to work, get married, serve in the military if I wished. Dems were some of my worst opponents. They changed.
Today, we have a party that wants to kill us queers in camps, and a party opposing them. In g-d Kansas, I’d prefer Hamilton over a Nazi.

Last night at a city council meeting, I got to look the mayor in his eyes while I accused him of corruption and he had to look me in the eyes and let me speak. This is like drugs to me now. It felt so good. I'm seriously telling you all, get more involved in local politics. It's so empowering!

I'm getting so close to being able to move houses. I just can't wait to be outta here and rebuilding my life so it all revolves around making art. I get to finally stop pretending like my house has normal rooms. Every room is an art studio.
