Vaccine crankery taking hold at the highest level in a modern nation with such a big population is wild. Vaccine weirdos are everywhere, but there’s nowhere else they’re driving public health policy like this.
This is massive outlier stupidity in government.
“On Thursday, Mr. Gorton said that “the success of the polio vaccine was a massive medical fraud” and that widespread vaccination was a “public health disaster.” He received a standing ovation…

Mr. Kennedy spoke next, linking arms with the group even as measles cases continue to rise”
RFK Jr. Assures Vaccine Skeptics They Have a ‘Friend at the White House’
The health secretary spoke at a conference featuring misinformation about vaccines, including a claim that the success of the polio vaccines was a “fraud.”

What a foul human being he is.
Just look at the glee on Nigel Farage’s face as he watches a Piddington resident cry about the overt racism she, her Caribbean heritage husband, and their two children have felt in the village during the referendum.

Time and again he’s showing us exactly who he is.

Brave, brave woman. I’m heartbroken for her too, and for her boys. What a way to find out who your neighbours really are.
"I am heartbroken to discover I'm living among some very bigoted, xenophobic people. It's been the most amazingly peaceful place to live and we've never experienced the level of overt racism that we’re witnessing." — Rachel, Piddington resident with Afro-Caribbean husband and mixed-heritage children

I think this is great progress. At the same time it seems inexcusable to me that any new homes are built without solar panels now.
Solar Energy UK: According to Government figures, for England alone, 55,773 new homes were built with solar panels fitted in the first half of this year – 58% of the 98,222 newly built in that period.

In 2021 the figure was just 16% for newbuilds in England.

I wonder if these convictions would have been secured if Gisele Pelicot had not chosen to be so open about the horrific crimes against her?
The horror seems almost impossible to conceive and so may have been doubted by juries.
I think now it’s much clearer what some men are capable of.
You will be hearing literally nothing about this horrific Lancashire rape gang from any of the usual suspects, because only one of them has a Muslim name.

My assumption about this story is the techbros have watched Trump milk the on-again-off-again blockade of the Straits of Hormuz to make money on oil trades and are simply going to trash and then talk back up their own companies in the same style of grift.

Life in the shoe:

Took 21yo back to uni for his final year today. 23yo, who now lives in the same city for work, showed up with her partner and helped him move into his new place.

If I cark it tomorrow, I can go happy knowing that my children like each other and do nice things for each other. ❤️

That album was the soundtrack to a huge year in my life back in the day, and is still an all time favourite.

This is actually very lovely, but the opening seconds did also have me thinking “wow! The Dead Poet’s Society really did a number on this guy!”
“Do you think HUMAN CREATIVITY matters?

Most people don't spend a lot of time thinking about poetry until their father dies, you go to a funeral, you lose a child, somebody breaks your heart & that's when Art’s not a luxury it's sustenance.” — ETHAN HAWKE

Each rescue is a challenge.

I used to watch the Orkney lifeboat head out into rough seas with my heart in my mouth. Remarkable bravery.
