this was the most hilarious night online I have ever had. I had been out, came home and looked at Twitter and posted "wait, what, Cameron shagged a dead pig????" and everyone replied "YES OH MY GOD YES".

just had this zoom noisily overhead at about 600ft, which is unusual, to say the least. Usually only get this kind of plane when it's Trooping the Colour or a coronation or something

Used to work in a small cafe in Carlisle when I overheard a young man deliberating with his friend whether he should move to London or not and was waiting for a sign. I stuck London Calling on and the look he gave his friend stuck with me and I really hope he made it to London.

We found an abandoned, scrawny, starving kitten on an empty industrial lot last week, far from any residential building. No microchip. Non-neutered.
He's extremely friendly and *extraordinarily* hungry.
It would appear that he is now ours.

I miss the old days when a disgruntled noble in a dispute with the crown would just spent a few years sulking in the Low Countries before landing at a fishing village in the south west with some Flemish mercenaries and heading for the Welsh Marches to raise his banner.

This is a bit long but a nice skewering of the arrogant twats locked in their little bubbles who are driving the "AI is going to kill us all" nonsense.

ok, I've worked out what the #Strictly vibe is reminding me of: it's when you go back to school for the autumn term/new school year and the previous prefects have now left and the new prefects are getting comfy in the sixth form common room, and it's all a bit jarring to see them there.
