Summary of the recommended fic 'Westward Home': Ben finally has the opportunity to fulfill his lifelong dream of heading west to California along the Oregon Trail, but things get complicated when he finds a stowaway eating his food - Rey Johnson. it was kind of funny to make rey unconsciously kind of an ageist towards a guy she's very much into 😂
The flat of his thumb brushes atop the apples of her cheeks. “Told anyone you’re here?” “How do you mean?” “With me. At my place.” She wrinkles her nose. It’s times like these when it becomes weird—where she’s reminded that Ben is very much older, very together, occasionally coming off more like a dad than a guy she’s casually fucking. Maybe the age gap truly is a considerable factor. “Um, no. Should I?” His eyebrows lift a bit, shaking his head while muttering something. Barely discernible. Meant only for him. “Sorry?” She frowns. “I didn’t catch that.”

There's a brief flash of guilt for being so abrupt, but he knows that this newly forged truce between them is simply to brittle to throw the hand grenade that is Luke Skywalker into the middle of it. Ben thinks he's dodged the bullet when he goes two entire days without any needling text voicemails or pictures of rib roasts past. He should have known The General was not defeated-just regrouping. His view of his book is blocked as Rey perches her peachy ass on his lap. "Hey, she whispers, winding her arms around his neck, delicate fingers threading into the curls brushing the back of his neck. Little menace-she knows that never fails to make him melt. "Hello, baby. "Sooo... your mom mentioned she's throwing a party at the house this weekend. I was thinking, maybe we could go?" He looks down into her breathtakingly beautiful face, spring green eyes lit with hope. And he folds as fast as house of cards in a hurricane. "Of course, sweetheart, I'll let Leia know we're coming."
