I’m still stunned by Dolly Parton’s passing. Here’s what I wrote from the heart on my substack. itgotsaidbyjanet.substack.com/p/a-tribute-...

*Flav* My edit keeps misspelling Flava Flav.🤦🏽‍♀️

I’m loving the clock Flave has for this performance! Red white and Blue trim. Johnny Juice on the wheels of steel. #SternGroveFestival So glad the festival was streamed. 👏🏽👏🏽

Seeing Flava-Flave and Chuck D in Stern Grove on my screen is the blessing I need. I’m getting my GenX fight the power feels! #SternGroveFestival The crowd is beautiful! Fond memories living in the Bay Area.

The electric guitar player giving Lift Every Voice, gave me chills! 3:32pm Pacific Public Enemy started.

Today performing at the Stern Grove Festival is Public Enemy. I have so many wonderful memories of going to that music festival, even the social aspect of going was the best! I’m watching from SCAL and getting all the feels. #SternGroveFestival #SanFrancisco

Going into election season in a few weeks, I feel some type of way. This economy is 🚮 and no one in congress seems to give a damn on either side of the aisle. www.nytimes.com/2026/07/30/b...

I am a descendant of US Chattel Slavery. Today’s recognition of the end of chattel slavery is American History. #Juneteenth

Is there anyway these four can just bum rush the White House and stop the insanity? Play time is over, this economy is busted and spiraling down daily. This is just too much “winning” for me.

I have started a Substack because some things need to be said.

For more than a year I got to know my nurses, techs, doctors, pharmacists very well. I consider it a huge blessing to have been cared for so well at KP Harbor City & Carson. 🩷🩷 Give my nurses the support they need!✊🏽📢 #KaiserNursesStrike

The Nurses Strike at KP makes me sad. I was diagnosed and treated for Breast Cancer and everyone I came in contact with should have what they need to do their job. The care I received was world class and it was done with precision. These Heroes on the frontline deserve the pay and support.📢 ✊🏽

Haven’t posted in a while b/c I haven’t had a lot to say. This month is Breast Cancer Awareness Month, as a Survivor, this is also the time of year where I remember October was the month where me and my doctor knew something wasn’t right. Early detection is how BC got its butt kicked!🩷

We can’t give Americans universal single payer healthcare but our overtaxed & skimmed paychecks can be used pay for weaponry to bomb another country when we have no diplomatic command of the region. 🤔 I am the 92% and this mess ain’t my fault.

I come from a family that has more than 5 generations of service in our military. As I pray for my family members who are currently serving and on reserve, I carry in my heart 🙏🏽🙏🏽 protection & safety for our men and women in uniform. I don’t like our military being used to regulate w/o diplomacy.🤬
June 22, 2025 at 10:07 AM
I can’t sleep because I’m wondering what’s going to happen first, a terrorist attack on US soil now that we’ve ditched diplomacy in the Middle East w/ war behaviors and the use of surveillance because we have open borders. This kind of thinking at this hour is not what I want for my country! 🙏🏽🙏🏽
June 22, 2025 at 9:57 AM
All I can think about is open borders has not only supported corporations & their continued exploitation of cheap labor disrespecting the working class and labor unions. Add to the equation now that open borders has allowed sleeper cells into the country. No Middle East diplomacy = disaster now.🤦🏽‍♀️
June 22, 2025 at 9:38 AM
I have never supported open borders because we need standards for regulating who comes into our country and yes this is an intersection between immigration and national security issues. Now we have the occupant of 1600 Pennsylvania Ave. bombing Iran. God help us all!

I am ADOS. My ancestors were not immigrants. My ancestors built this country while wearing chains doing back breaking work in the fields creating the capital wealth America has even today. Today honors my ancestors and recognize when freedom was finally acknowledged. #JuneteenthFreedomDay

I keep waking up everyday thinking okay, our country has finally leveled off with the nonsense and then BOOM! The 💩 show keeps getting worse. Seriously, are we just being punk’d? Somebody make it stop already.🤬 www.npr.org/2025/02/27/n...

This is crazy! I can’t sew but I tried to learn in summer camp and this store was my secret stylist, especially when I did pageants. I went to Miss Florida twice😉 and every year I got compliments on my suits and dresses I wore to day events and lunches. people.com/joann-fabric...

Today’s episode of Project 2025 the racists strike again. The Air Force is not going to teach about the Tuskegee Airmen. Black American History is American History! This tactic is called erasure. They will not disrespect my elders, ever! This article is from expressnews.com

I’ve been protecting my peace and watching out for my community. Not joining or watching any circus activity. I honored Dr. King because he and my elders stood up for me so that when I was born I had full civil rights as a citizen. I am the dream he talked about. ✌🏽☮️
