When I see an old, visibly diminished Washington politician, I don't see a venerable statesperson who is serving despite the challenges of age. I see a living ledger of political favors, debts, and IOUs that people are keeping in office because not everyone has cashed in yet.

Trump is not a political genius who navigated through things and found a loophole. He is who he is. If you think of it in evolutionary terms, one way to explain his "success" is that it's a failure of the political environment to eliminate his phenotype, so to speak.

Nonprofit hospitals account for about 70% of all staffed beds in the US. For-Profit (investor-owned) hospitals account for about 15%. The other 15% are various types gov't. Is it really a crisis of capitalism that we have?

Our forthcoming 50-state Health Freedom Index report helps state legislators, think tanks, and others in the policy world to identify the policy levers for reform.
The current FDA system fuses two different questions: 1) whether people should be free to buy a new drug or therapy from a willing seller, and 2) whether taxpayers should be required to pay for that drug through government insurance programs. Not good.
