Imagine having been alive since Dickens was a young man, but all that time AS A TORTOISE. You have lived through the entire history of football and cinema but never been to a game, or a film. You were in your 150s when the first Nando's opened but you've never been in a branch.

Anyone who even notices, let alone calls attention to, the curious but utter coincidental and meaningless fact that every world on which the Guide has ever set up an accounting department has shortly afterwards perished in warfare or some natural disaster, is liable to get sued to smithereens.

For some reason I think of Napoleon Blown Apart, I mean Master and Commander, as very bluesky-coded.

Anyway, apparently there's an Honest Trailer for it now:

Ridiculous, yet also completely unsurprising that the FA is too stupid to have considered that a team found guilty (appeal pending) of the worst cheating scandal ever seen in English football, should maybe not be able to receive a Uefa licence.

How many years has the FA had to think about this?
Senior figures within the English game are concerned that Manchester City could play in the Champions League next season.

It centres around the possibility that City win the competition, which provides automatic qualification as titleholders.

“If the wife is fit, you must acquit”
RIP Jeffrey Archer, not a day goes by when I don't think about the judge in his 1987 libel case (which Archer "won" by doing a bunch of perjury) summing up for the jury by going "would a guilty man have such a hot wife". one of the most insane legal moments of all time

Wut?
For 'professional' reasons, I am a member of lots of small town Facebook groups. This bloke has been appearing in towns across Sussex (Horsham, Redhill, Crawley, East Grinstead) with no apparent explanation. This is precisely why I stay subscribed to these groups.

I think this is fairly easily explained by the "Agent K thesis" (1997):

"A person is smart. People are dumb, panicky, dangerous animals."

Anyone who can remember the treatment of David Beckham in England in 1998 (pre-social media!) would know this.

The WAFR account is so random! Maybe time to start a spin-off 'Does Anyone Remember This Fucking Record?'
