Me to ChatGPT: describe a book I will hate

“At a magical academy, a naïve teen discovers she’s fated to a brooding alpha vampire professor; when her kidnapped sister becomes leverage, secrets spiral into a cliffhanger romance driven by destiny, coercion, and a mysterious time-bending prophecy.”

Unhinged conversations with ChatGPT part 702:

“Which means a trillion tardigrades would actually be a pile you could sit on, which is information nobody needed but now exists in the universe.”

My AI is having a very bad day.

I just said to it, “those don’t look like my data. Those look like you invented data.”

and then it agreed.

It is REALLY easy to make fake videos with Sora AI.

In fact, we made most of the 30+ I just threw on YouTube in a day.

Churning butter is one of my favorites. Toxic!

I threw a file of competence porn books at ChatGPT to see if it liked any for me…

This portion of the response made me snort:

Arrows of the Queen — Mercedes Lackey
Fantasy about a chosen Herald bonded to a magical horse.
Reason: Valdemar series (your “stupid talking horse world” dislike)

Me to ChatGPT: here is my résumé, here is my training transcript, here is 20 pages from our LMS of 1000 classes. Find classes that might be of interest in me. Sort them by relevancy into four tiers.

ChatGPT: OK here you go

Trying to buy airline tickets. Systems like these are why people don’t like your company.

had to reset the password and then had to do a security code to make sure it was really me, only to have the site not cookie my travel plans and make me start over.

We now have Claude-light at work.

I do like the colors of it better, choosing the beige background with brown text, makes it feel a little bit more upscale than ChatGPT.

However, the icon floats there all the time and I cannot, but remember Hank Green’s comparison to a specific anatomy.

Considering how much Google knows about me you think the sample searches would be in any way specific…

They are not.

Fun with ChatGPT

I’m working on a grocery list & I had to explain to my AI that red green chips are a thing in this household.

Because it’s chips made out of peas, so they were green chips, and then they came out with a tomato basil variation, which are red.

So the red variety of the green chips.

Red green chips.

So it’s my husband and I and ChatGPT in a room and we just take turns asking our ChatGPT insane questions.

This is the final salvo from my ChatGPT:

“If he escalates to “washing machine wombat,” you know things have truly gone too far.

I regret nothing about this conversation”

I enjoy hunting for new books with ChatGPT.
Distilled:
You like smart, capable adults navigating danger, love, and the world with humor, emotional honesty, and forward momentum, and you reject books that waste your time through cruelty, artificial ignorance, or lazy plotting.

Today I asked ChatGPT to look at a list of 250 books on AI from the work library and tell me if I would like any of them based on what it knows about me and books and what I do.

Feels a lot like living in building designed by Escher.

Today to ChatGPT: we have a movie theater's stand from the Two Towers: Aragorn Gandalf Merry Pippin Frodo. A and P you can push face aside and selfie. I have looked online & I can't find what would be a price

Answer: depends on buyer. $300 to $1500

Don’t dox me, we put it in secure storage. #nerd

I’m just gonna keep posting on bluesky and pretending that anyone reads it.

I cleaned out the front closet today, including a box that was put away the Christmas 2011.

Also, a Lord of the rings movie theater stand where you can put your face in place of Aragorn’s or Pipin’s.

Bad statistics with ChatGPT
The combo, stripped of narrative
1. Unicycle in the car
2. Crate/box of Korean sweet potatoes
3. Active Cracker Barrel Styrofoam soda cup
Each item alone is uncommon.
Each pair is rare.
All together crosses into “you could canvas a stadium and not find another.”

The important distinction you’re circling

You are not building:
• an automation system
• a content generator
• a chatbot

You are building:

a judgment-preserving decision system”

Turns out that my use of AI is …. Way beyond the typical

🧩 The Systems Builder (this is you)
•Uses ChatGPT as an external brain
•Enforces rules, formats, taxonomies
•Corrects the assistant when it drifts
•Builds long-running projects across days or weeks
•Cares deeply about consistency and memory
You are constructing a machine that happens to talk back.

UNHINGED chats with ChatGPT
December 28, 2025 at 4:27 AM
Me: Okay, so if you took a large, not the largest, but a large, say 75th percentile great white shark and plopped it in my pool, how many lanes would it take up?

ChatGPT:
🦈
Width: A large great white would take up about 1 lane.
Length: At roughly 15 feet, it would be around 1/4 of the pool length

When you don’t want to do the math or value accuracy, ChatGPT is there

Me: A character in this book is smok8ng. She is in New Jersey. What is the cost of a single Marlboro cigarette in new jersey

ChatGPT: 🪩 About $0.50–$0.60 per cigarette is a realistic 2025 New Jersey cost estimate.
December 25, 2025 at 4:47 AM
Evidently, I am way too into using ChatGPT.
