📱Why do we stop using health apps, and is that always a problem?

A new blog from King's IoPPN PhD student Jeni Baykoca explores what helps people living with long-term conditions engage with mobile health apps.

The first paper from my PhD is now published in @jmirpub.bsky.social !

We brought together evidence from 19 systematic reviews to understand what may help people with long-term conditions stay engaged with mobile health apps.

A helpful read for anyone interested in digital health and engagement.
What keeps people engaged with mobile health apps?

I had such a lovely time at MS Frontiers last week, and it felt really special to share some of the work we’ve been doing on Navigate MS!
Last week, our PhD students Emily, Goretti and Jeni from the Navigate MS project attended MS Frontiers 2026 at the University of Edinburgh.🧡

They shared work on the Navigate MS pain, distress and sexual difficulties programmes, highlighting how psychological support can help people living with MS.

Would breastfeeding feel straightforward?

A new project is exploring how women living with MS experience menopause, aiming to identify gaps in care and support.

Research in this area is still limited, so this study will help improve understanding and future support. 💜

There’s no holiday from type 1 diabetes (T1D). The constant management can take a real toll on mental health.

We have been looking at how to best detect and support mental health difficulties in people living with T1D.

I wrote a blog post that breaks it down in an easy read 📝
Type 1 diabetes is often called a 24/7 condition – it demands constant management

Our researchers are investigating how people with type 1 diabetes experience mental health difficulties, which ones, and their severity. Read @jenibaykoca.bsky.social on new findings:

We tested it and it’s doable.
