I am looking for examples of infrastructure that force the cyclists to perform a shoulder check as this is a particularly difficult bike maneuver for older adults/children. Picture from lnkd.in/ej-h-Dec. Don't hesitate to send me other examples from across Europe (with GPS coordinate, even better).

Hello #neurosky! This is a study that took many years and that I am proud to see published: cognitive models can replace traditional neuropsych testing, and be used for both early detection and continuous monitoring of long-term memory dysfunction. journals.plos.org/digitalhealt...

Competitive Olivocerebellar Input Selection Promotes Resilient Circuit Formation
Many neural circuits undergo competitive input selection, a process in which supernumerary connections compete for innervation territory on target cells. This process can create atypical circuits when...

when you use AI to write code you put yourself in cognitive debt ; at some point you will have to spend the time and effort to understand the code, if you are ever to use it for anything you put your name on. May feel like a shortcut but really it’s only the beginning of your work it’s not the end

The AI industry claims their products will "improve efficiency" and "accelerate science" but I'm able to do less science because I have to spend more time screening applicants to my lab. LLM noise drowns out signal- last year I shortlisted unqualified apps, and surely missed some gems.
You’ve also hit on why the tech sector is broken. Post a job on any job board and you have 500 resumes generated off of your exact job description by the end of the day. Companies still need good engineers and there are a ton of good engineers looking for jobs but they can’t connect anymore

New preprint!

In this study, the fantastic Apoorva Sharma demonstrates that the amount of time that passes during motor preparation can "tag" for retrieval otherwise competing motor memories.

Modeling work links these fx to putative temporal basis sets in the cerebellar cortex.

Feedback welcome!
