The thing about "weird," especially as applied to JD Vance, which is when it was first caught on, is that it is also a shorthand for explaining that JD is the Trojan Horse for this ⬇️⬇️⬇️⬇️

Have you noticed, lately, or noticed people around you commenting, that there just seems to be no money anymore. There's no money for companies to make the tv shows you like, the video games you like, the local diner you like shut down, no one you know can find a job.

Think about that in context of
AI is now the biggest investment in all of US history as a percentage of GDP.

Datacenter construction is up, all other construction is down.

"AI Is Squeezing Out the Rest of the Stock Market," reported WSJ 2 days ago.

We basically bet the whole economy on the most optimistic visions panning out.
Part of why I don't like the AI-or-bust economy is the constant flopsweat of people on the news who say this HAS to work. Quit making everyone so anxious. Goddamn. If this is the next Google then why are you acting like this? I don't remember being told to buy an iPhone at gunpoint.

I know this isn’t useful but it’s weird how “the president should be coherent” was a Very Important Thing just a few years ago and then suddenly wasn’t.
Trump: "I take an aspirin a day. I don't know if it works but psychologically I need it. It thins the hell out of your blood I guess ... They want me to go down to the 80. I take the 386. I don't know what the hell it is. It's a monster. They said, 'Sir, you don't need that!'"

This isn't actually using GenAI at all, I'm assuming Capcom worded it this way to appease shareholders who aren't happy that they're not embracing AI, but the side effect is that now everyone who only read this headline and not the article thinks the next Resident Evil is being written by ChatGPT

Just a reminder for anyone that cares, Argonaut keeps partnering with ModRetro, run by war profiteer and general creep Palmer Luckey

Thread about why they suck below

The chintzy-looking M64 clone console of the N64 by a company named ModRetro has been released, I think, I don't pay attention that closely to shit.

But as the great @frankcifaldi.bsky.social posted before, it is our civic duty to push back against this company and shun ANYONE who doesn't.

His vocabulary is so limited it’s like reading a transcript of Koko, the gorilla who knew sign language, if Koko were a white nationalist
I recommend people read this to get a sense of the president's grave cognitive impairment. Trump is either unwilling or unable (or maybe both) to answer the questions he's actually asked, so he just rants and raves while the interviewers do their best to provide structure to his random brain firings

Pete is lost in terms of modern war. I use the example of this outgunned Ukrainian army officer who successfully terrorized a Russian unit for weeks because she "did the math."

At the time, someone commented, "yeah, in combat, 'I did the math' beats 'I can do 100 pushups' every time."

I need to believe most people understand that what fascists want most from AI is a box that agrees with them and that everyone else agrees contains all factual knowledge and that they're jumping the gun in a very transparent way that makes them easy to stop.

Because of people don't, we're fucked.
