So many men appear to be wholly uninterested in being people.
It's telling that men would rather try to invent tech to replace humans' role in caregiving than step up as equal partners in parenting.

Telling, that is, in that it shows how financial capitalism and patriarchy work together to dissuade men from doing "unprofitable" labor, like the work of care.

Notice how the headline frames Cuba as the potential lawbreaker: a ship is “intercepted” while “smuggling” oil into the country.

What the headline obscures is that the U.S. is the one violating international law by imposing an oil blockade on Cuba and hijacking oil shipments bound for the island.

I voted early; 🫡 I still managed to do my part/my civic duty.

If white ppl in America don't step up? Yall deserve the hell you vote for / abstain for / unleash.

It didn't have to be this way.

The "some folks" are gatekeeping lame-o's that stand to lose clout at the local comic-con if cosplay gets more mainstream.
What would be great is if people see this and want to join in the fun!
Don't be a gatekeeper, be a cheerleader!
Circling back to this Megan Thee Stallion anime thing because this is what some folks are upset about. Like, look at how she is blessing us? Who could be upset with this?! I used to pray for times like this!

Just blocked a supposed progressive account. Stopped to investigate when they referred to the decrepit White House as “ghetto.”

Gtfo with that tired racist bullshit.

I'm a foundational Black American and I have to say: this young lady tells it like it is!

She's definitely invited to the cookout.🔥

This is a hero, Y'all. Well done, Ma'am. You're gonna kick ass in your new position. ✊📖

25 years ago today, the U.S. launched its war in Afghanistan.

Weeks earlier, Barbara Lee was the only member of Congress to vote against the 2001 Authorization of Military Force, warning it would be a blank check for forever wars.

History has proven her lonely and courageous vote right.

Personally if my brand was “defender of men and traditional values,” I would actually stay away from the idea that if a woman goes to hang out with a group of men it’s absolutely normal and expected to have a ketamine gangbang and she’s stupid to think otherwise

Hey, here's a random thought: maybe all of us who are Democrats and progressives should pause attacks on each other for the next three weeks and focus on beating Republicans. I promise our arguments will be so much more interesting in January after a blue tsunami.

I learned about Sophie Scholl and The White Rose when I was in school and lately nearly every day, I think about her. Her strength and bravery cannot be quantified. She would be appalled by the MAGA movement. May she never be forgotten.

Just so everyone is aware, bookshop.org is having an “anti-Prime” sale today. Part of the proceeds of their sales go to help independent bookstores and you can buy ebooks! 💜
Bookshop.org: Buy books online. Support local bookstores.
A better way to buy books online. Every purchase financially supports local independent bookstores.

I looked one of the Netflix CEOs up on LinkedIn once. He worked in VHS rentals in the 90s, then joined Netflix in the 2000s back when it was a mail order rental service.

All distribution. No production experience whatsoever.

These are the guys the rest of Hollywood followed into hell.

An important corollary to the Surf Dracula tweet that I think should be talked about more, now that we're basically inundated with these types of shows, is that most of them don't get renewed, but even the ones that are don't turn into the weekly adventures of Surf Dracula in the second season.
