If the United States were a Christian nation we would dismantle our nuclear warheads, return stolen land, abolish privatized prisons, make healthcare affordable for everyone, form alliances with vulnerable countries, and many other things conservative Christians would call woke.

I feel traumatized just watching videos of ICE terrorizing my neighbors. Can’t begin to imagine how the people directly affected feel, the children who will never feel fully safe ever again.

In college I received a fellowship to the Kennedy Center. It was one of the highlights of my young adult life.

This is the highway I take to work every day. He didn’t have to ask anyone to name it after him, people just tend to do that for presidents who are actually good at being president.

For once Pastor Josh and I agree. Example: I used to be a conservative Evangelical until God turned me into a Christian who actually follows the teachings of Jesus.

Jesus isn’t on the ballot. God doesn’t have a party preference. Christians ought to vote in the interest of the common good with special consideration for the most vulnerable among us.

I’m not an apologist for the Bible because there are verses and passages that (seem to me to) fail to represent God’s good nature.
Theology shouldn’t make us bend reality and morality, it should help us engage the real world with a growing love.
