🚨 CBC Investigates identified at least 220 gambling-related suicides in Canada over a decade, yet no coroner has held an inquest into the issue. Ontario's recorded cases have tripled since 2022.

Should gambling companies face stronger oversight and mandatory intervention requirements?

It is nothing short of American-style gerrymandering, and if Canadian courts want to protect democracy in this country, this is a red line.

Seeing an unusually large number of "needle in Halloween candy" stories from Canadian police and media this year.

So here's your periodic reminder that these historically turn out to be hoaxes, stunts or misunderstandings and NOT "psycho tries to injure kids en masse" situations:
Why the urban legend of contaminated Halloween candy won't disappear | WNYC
There is no evidence of any deaths or injuries from contaminated Halloween candy. Why are people still afraid of it?

Carney and many other world leaders like to live the life of the billionaire class and rather than rein in the excess they encourage it. Democracy needs a reset with big money removed from it and public money put to those who really need it

Canada is the world’s fourth-largest oil producer.

Yet we remain hewers of wood and drawers of water, and imported about 500,000 barrels of crude a day in 2025, three-quarters of it from the U.S.

Part of what makes Carney is worse is also how Carney gets away with more.

When harper attacked public services, there was a national mobilization, and Liberals at least pretended to care

Now? Liberals hold hands with Conservatives in a desire to crush unions, workers, and Indigenous people
Mark Carney’s government is worse than Stephen Harper’s.
I’m worried for what that neoliberal snake Mark Carney is going to push through with his majority.
Privatization of public services, building out oil/gas infrastructure while the country is literally on fire… he’s a danger to humanity.

Trump is just saying the quiet part out loud.

Canada-U.S. integration—one might call it assimilation—that our political leaders tirelessly pursued over the last five decades has resulted in the gradual erosion of Canadian sovereignty.

Will war bankrupt Canada?

Our military buildup will be financed through taxation, borrowing, or inflation.

Carney chooses debt because it hides the cost until after elections, allowing him to play emperor today while leaving future generations with the bill.
